Exhibition concept

Experience the environment in the middle of the city? Where and how do we city-dwellers experience nature and the environment?

Spring fever in street cafes, bars, cool drinks at the beach, flying kites at the river Elbe and ice-skating on the Alster. For many people the changing of the seasons ist the most obvious and fundamental experience of nature. This was the starting point of the concept by the creative team of the Hamburg exhibition agency Missall, Gies + Partners (mgp ErlebnisRaumDesign GmbH), who were responsible for the conception, design and realization of the interactive exhibition in the barn.

In the over two years of planning and construction the seasons were transformed to beautifully designed experience rooms where many of the themes and phenomena surrounding nature, energy and climate have found their home. The overture is the exhibition "Hamburg". We rediscover the vibrant metropolis through a journey through spring, summer, autumn and winter - green and wild, a hotspot of biodiversity, and always full of surprises.

One of the hallmarks of our unusual exhibition is it's humor. A smile on the lips learns better, don't you think? The singing Astra-bottle and the dancing frog are only two of our highlights. The others you will have to experience yourself...
